Ahmet Rifat has confirmed his 7th summer signing, with the arrival of attacking midfielder Andronicos Georgiou, ahead of the start of a pre-season campaign which commences in shortly over a week's time.
24-year old Georgiou, like fellow summer signing Arthur Iontton, started his career with EFL side Stevenage, making his first team debut as a teenager in 2017. In the 2018/19 season, Georgiou impressed during a loan spell at step three with Kings Langley, netting 4 times in 16 appearances as Langley narrowly missed out on a playoff spot in the Southern Premier South division. During the close-season that year, Georgiou spent some time on trial with Middlesbrough, appearing for their U23s during pre-season.
The following season, Georgiou had loan spells at St Albans in National League South and Hendon at step 3. After his release from Stevenage, Wycombe Wanderers offered the Cypriot midfielder a deal as part of their B team set-up. Since departing the Chairboys in 2021, Andronicos has appeared for St Albans City and Braintree Town in National League South, Haringey Borough in the Isthmian Premier League in 2021/22 and most recently Royston Town during the latter stages of 2023/24.
