George Borg

The Club have been made aware this week that, following an incident during the match at Enfield Town in August 2014, a charge against George Borg for aggravated misconduct was found proven by the FA's Independent Regulatory Commission. Mr Borg was alleged to have used abusive and/or indecent and/or insulting words towards Wingate and Finchley FC supporters, contrary to Rule E3(1). It was further alleged that this breach of Rule E3(1) was an “Aggravated Breach” as defined in Rule E3(2), as it included a reference to ethnic origin, and/or race, and/or religion or belief. Subject to appeal, Mr Borg is suspended from all football related activity until such time as Burnham Ramblers has completed five matches, as well as being fined £275 on top of costs, and ordered to complete an education programme.
