The 2015/16 season will be the start for our new Director of Football Simon Lane as well as Wingate and Finchley. Throughout the close season, as and when appropriate, I shall update you on confirmed news. It is with pleasure that I start my reports on the appointment of Simon. I have been in contact on and off with Simon since the beginning of my Chairmanship. Recommended to me in 2008, circumstance stopped us working together before. However we have a very worthy successor to Dave Norman. Simon is a UEFA-A license coach and also holds the UEFA academy license. His career has seen him manage Windsor FC and coach the highly successful Maidenhead FC alongside Johnson Hyppolyte. I am really excited to see Simon come in to not only manage First team football but to implement and refine our already successful youth policy. His knowledge of players at this level as well as higher and lower levels compliments our policy of recruiting raw talent and trying to add to it. He is a highly technical coach and adds even more to the existing First team coaching staff; Daniel Nielsen and Gavin King. The squad will not only be developed but also spoilt by the coaching sessions they will receive. His interest in every person at the club compliments the Wingate ethos and I am sure everyone will benefit and enjoy Simon being here. Our intention is to add quality and progression to each and every footballer at Wingate and Finchley. To continue to play entertaining and watchable football but also to try to emulate and further the club's development. Simon has spent a lot of his personal time introducing himself to all and discussing next season and has already created a good rapport with the squad. Each and everyone has expressed their excitement and approval of the new Gaffer. So much so, that we will retain the majority of our squad. Simon has already further added two high quality technical footballers and we are in conversations with one or two other top class signings to strengthen the squad, as we embark on attempting to improve on last season's success. Youth Structure With the new look management set up, I am also pleased to announce that Jake Heracleous shall come in to run the Under 18 side. Jake has been at Arsenal and Brentford academies and holds the UEFA -B license and is studying his UEFA-A . Andy Kouroushi steps up from the U15 side to Head of Youth Development. We shall also duel register all of our young players to play for Hadley Wood and Wingate FC, who will be in the Herts Senior league to give a taste of men's football. I shall keep you all updated on news as and when appropriate. In the meantime have a good summer.
