Sporting Hackney 1 Wingate & Finchley Development 3

On Tuesday the U21 Development side travelled to the home of grass roots football - Hackney Marshes. Playing on the new show-piece pitch, it was a far cry from the old days at the marshes. Pitted against Sporting Hackney who play in the Middlesex County League and who were worthy cup winners last year, it was a tall order for the young Blues team. However, they ran out eventual winners 3-1 playing fantastic football against a strong and competitive team, which had two ex-Wingate first team players in the squad . The game was attractive to watch and shows the strength and depth of talent at the club.
