U18's win AFA Cup Final

The Blues were up against Bealonians FC who we knew nothing about, and so we treated the final like any other final by giving the opposition the utmost respect. Wingate started the game very cagily and were just keeping the ball and being patient until the fifth minute, when in our first attack, Alex Yearwood scored with a left footed volley high into the net. By the tenth minute we were 4-0 up with goals from Alex Yearwood again, Darnell Maxwell and Jamie Nelson. Without being disrespectful to the opposition it was all a bit too easy. The difference in class between both teams was enormous to say the least. Just before half time, Yearwoodcompleted his hat trick. Half time score 5-0 The second half was a continuation of the first half with Wingate completely dominating the game. We added another four goals by the time the final whistle came. Maxwell scored his second goal and one each were from substitutes Matt Hennigan and Nathan Frazer-Carrol. We did concede one goal which was well struck just out of the reach of Ross. The highlight of the game was Alex Yearwood scoring his fourth goal and rightly receiving the man of the match award. Final score 9-1 A big thank you to the parents and friends that turned up on the day. It is always nice to see you there. Also a big thanks to Gary and Malcolm for their continued support throughout the season and on the day.
